Overview
The Movement Operations Coordinator will support IOM Libya Country Office’s Operations Movement Unit, providing support in all resettlement and humanitarian return projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor all Movement Operations activities, including resettlement, Voluntary Humanitarian Return, staff travel, return emergency response, or other movements.
- Provide daily management and supervision of all Operations’ Unit staff, including capacity building and technical support.
- Develop and maintain liaison with government authorities, diplomatic missions, national and international institutions, and other counterparts.
- Coordinate synergies and ensure effective cooperation between the operations unit and other IOM units.
- Manage the coordination and ensure timely, efficient, and safe logistical land transportation arrangements.
- Monitor operational budgets and expenditures.
- Develop and implement initiatives to promote programme visibility and overall movement operations.
- Develop appropriate monitoring tools and design new initiatives.
- Ensure reporting compliance and undertake corrective action when required.
- Analyze travel projections to foresee movement trends and plans.
- Compile accurate movement statistics and ensure reporting compliance.
- Undertake duty travel relating to the programme as required.
- Participate in events, meetings, and training with civil society organizations, NGOs, embassies, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Five years of relevant professional experience with a Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Development Studies, Human Rights, International Relations, Law or a related field; or seven years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree in the above fields.
- Experience in the field of migrants’ assistance with a Government or UN agency, or a regional or international organization in the Middle East and/or North Africa.
- Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Development Studies, Human Rights, International Relations, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or Bachelor’s degree in the above fields.
