Overview

Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for countering smuggling of migrants in Nigeria, ensuring a coordinated, efficient, and protection-sensitive response.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a desk review of existing policies and procedures.
  • Develop an inception report detailing methodology and workplan.
  • Facilitate consultative workshops and stakeholder engagements.
  • Develop a comprehensive, rights-based, and operational SOP.
  • Develop user-friendly implementation tools.
  • Present draft SOP, collect feedback, and integrate comments.
  • Support finalization and validation of the SOP.
  • Design and deliver training on the updated SOP.
  • Provide recommendations for capacity-building and SOP rollout.
  • Submit a training report and final consultancy report.
Required Experience

Extensive work experience in migration protection, counter trafficking and migration governance. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in policy development and frameworks. Ability to work with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds. Excellent understanding of gender-related needs, perspectives, concerns, and participation.

Qualifications

A master’s degree from an accredited academic institution in political science, international relations, international economics, law, public administration, or a related field. A first-level university degree, combined with five additional years of relevant experience, may be accepted in place of a master’s degree.
