Overview

The European Commission is seeking a Secretary to provide case and secretarial assistance within the Directorate-General for Competition. The role involves supporting managers and case handlers with organizational and administrative tasks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case and logistic support to managers and case handlers.
  • Organize missions and meetings.
  • Prepare administrative documents and steps for case-handling procedures.
Required Experience

A level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education, and appropriate professional experience of at least three years.

Qualifications

A level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma, or a level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education.

Other Details
Languages Required
• A thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU. • A satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU, to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties. • A good command of English is essential.
Languages Preferred
Good knowledge of French and/or German would be an asset. Any other language would be an additional advantage.
Contract Duration
The duration of the 1st contract will be of 1 to 4 years. The contract might then be extended only once for a maximum of 2 years.
Work Modality
The place of employment will be Brussels.
Remuneration
The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances. The European Commission applies a policy of equal opportunities and non-discrimination.
