Overview
The Accountability Assistant will assist the MEAL Team to ensure high standards of accountability and transparency in DRC program activities. This role oversees monitoring and evaluation, establishes community feedback mechanisms, and promotes transparency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Toll Free line in accordance with DRC standards.
- Assist the MEAL Officer to develop content for CFM awareness-raising and design IEC materials.
- Support regular Accountability trainings to staff and partners.
- Improve information sharing and participation with communities.
- Ensure the day-to-day functions of the CFM and timely entry of feedback into the CFM database.
- Refer non-sensitive feedback and protection-related concerns according to workflow.
- Develop a monthly CFM report and share findings.
- Support narrative updates on AAP activities for donor and internal reports.
- Monitor AAP materials stocks and expenditure.
- Provide budget forecasts on accountability lines.
- Support the updating of a mission-wide Accountability Framework and/or SOPs.
- Ensure accountability SOPs are available, translated into local language if required, shared and implemented.
- Support CHS self-assessment and contribute to the accountability improvement plan.
- Support the generation of lessons learned from CFM.
- Coordinate and liaise with staff and partners to improve accountability practices.
- Support regular visits to operation areas and organize CFM sessions.
- Perform other duties as directed by MEAL Team Leader and Accountability Specialist.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience with implementing AAP mechanisms or with monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian programs.
- Experience working in emergency response with INGOs, preferably in a humanitarian context.
