Overview

The Office of the Special Coordinator on Improving the United Nations Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA) is seeking a motivated and data-savvy intern to support its efforts in strengthening data analysis and visualization capacities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Clean, and organize raw data related to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA).
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis, including trend analysis.
  • Develop and improve dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI, Verint, Excel, and other tools.
  • Draft visual storytelling materials, infographics, and presentations.
  • Support ongoing projects related to system-wide SEA data coordination and knowledge sharing.
  • Assist in analyzing gaps in iReport and in collating recommendations and proposals from users.
  • Engage in brainstorming sessions to improve internal data workflows and propose innovation-driven solutions.
  • Support analysis, dissemination and presentation of the results of the annual system-wide survey on PSEA.
  • Provide general office support services; drafting and/or processing correspondence.
  • Undertake other responsibilities, as required.
Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (1) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (2) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Be computer literate in standard software applications.

Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
6 months
Work Modality
In person in New York, full time will be preferred but part-time modality would be considered.
Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
