Overview

The Social Worker (Parental Cover) will assist in the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities, focusing on the daily monitoring of services, cooperation with medical and psychosocial teams, and conducting vulnerability assessments for migrants and refugees.


Key Responsibilities
  • Daily monitoring and supervision of services provided by service provider(s) to ensure compliance and coverage of beneficiary needs.
  • Cooperate with medical and psychosocial teams on day-to-day activities.
  • Inform supervisor of challenges, especially those requiring medical or psychosocial support.
  • Ensure duties align with IOM's internal rules, regulations, and SOPs.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments for migrants and refugees and address protection needs by contacting competent agencies.
  • Address the needs of vulnerable groups, including women and children at risk, and the elderly, and refer cases for further treatment.
  • Follow up on protection cases and ensure quality case management.
  • Maintain comprehensive and updated case files and inform beneficiaries of case progress.
  • Ensure all cases are recorded and updated in the project database.
  • Regularly map services on-site and off-site and ensure access for migrants and refugees.
  • Develop individual action plans for migrants and refugees.
  • Support and participate in team meetings to discuss case management and feedback on risks, challenges, and gaps.
  • Escort beneficiaries to public health facilities if requested.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience
  • University degree in Social Work from an accredited academic institution with minimum two years of relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Familiarity with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees an advantage.
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Social Work from an accredited academic institution.
  • License to practice social work.
  • Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Languages Required
Fluency in English and Greek (oral and written) is required.
Languages Preferred
Master’s degree in Social Work an advantage. Membership with the Association of Greek Social Workers would be an advantage.
