Overview

The Education & Early Childhood Development Advisor will lead the design and implementation of inclusive programme strategies for quality education, with a focus on girls and children with disabilities. The role involves applying evidence-based approaches and aligning with national education priorities in Tanzania.


Key Responsibilities
  • Leads the design, testing, and implementation of inclusive education and EECD strategies, tools, and approaches.
  • Builds and maintains collaboration with government, partners, and internal teams.
  • Strengthens capacities of staff, educators, and stakeholders.
  • Reviews and ensures core instruments, tools, and modules are sensitive to social inclusion principles.
  • Documents the process, results, lessons learned, and key recommendations of inclusive education.
  • Ensures programmes meet quality standards through application of the EECD framework and indicators.
  • Supports monitoring and learning.
  • Strengthens positioning for funding through evidence-based results and impact.
Required Experience
  • At least 8 years’ experience working on gender transformative and social inclusion education sector programming.
  • Demonstrated track record of promoting inclusive education including familiarity with best practices and tools to improve learning outcomes for learners.
  • Experience supporting government counterparts or other implementation partners to mainstream inclusion in education programs.
  • Experience with 2-3 donors implementing programmes.
  • Experience in development education programmes and projects, including translating design into solid implementation with sound results.
  • Experience in planning and facilitating training/workshops on education project design and reviews.
  • Experience in writing/ contributing significantly to successful grant proposals.
  • Experience with rights-based approaches to education.
  • Experience managing staff, including demonstrated experience in staff training, coaching and mentoring.
  • High computer literacy with a full knowledge of office applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with children and understanding their special needs (Desirable).
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Education or Early Childhood Education.
