Overview
Responsible for the planning, implementation, and quality delivery of protection activities, including case management, protection monitoring, and community-based protection. The role aims to reduce protection risks, strengthen community mechanisms, and facilitate access to services for displacement-affected populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach and identify individuals at heightened protection risk.
- Provide case management support to vulnerable individuals.
- Deliver individual protection assistance (cash or in-kind).
- Ensure proper documentation of case management processes.
- Provide Targeted Individual Assistance to victims of Explosive Ordnance and Explosive Weapons accidents.
- Support the designing and delivery of Age, Gender, and Disability (AGD) Inclusion training and Victim Assistance (VA) capacity building.
- Conduct protection monitoring activities.
- Participate in the development and use of protection monitoring tools.
- Identify gaps in services and participate in service mapping and referral pathway updates.
- Plan and implement awareness-raising sessions and information campaigns.
- Support the establishment and strengthening of community-based protection structures.
- Deliver capacity-building sessions for community focal points and structures.
- Maintain regular communication with community leaders, civil society actors, and local authorities.
- Supervise Protection Assistants (if applicable).
- Coordinate with other DRC departments.
- Contribute to program reporting, planning, and proposal development.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, ethics, and safeguarding.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the field of humanitarian interventions, social sciences, human rights or community development. Strong understanding of protection issues, including child protection and gender-based violence.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s / Specialist’s / Master’s degree (e.g., in social sciences, international relations, humanitarian studies) or equivalent professional experience.
