Overview
Carries out detailed mechanical design for building projects and contributes to tender document preparation. Provides technical advice and liaises with construction teams on mechanical design issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Carries out detailed mechanical design for building projects including schools, hospitals, clinics, shelters, warehouses and rehousing projects.
- Contributes to the tender documents preparation related to mechanical works.
- Searches for emerging models and exploring technologies to identify new materials and techniques.
- Provides technical advice and carries out special design for the alteration works of the Agency premises.
- Liaises with Construction teams on mechanical design issues arising during implementation period.
- Coordinates and liaises with other designers, to optimize designs in response to mechanical needs.
- Assists in drafting terms of references for consultants related to mechanical works and supervising their work.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
At least four years of relevant experience of which at least two years in design including public buildings and developmental projects is required. Experience with mechanical design software and computer aided design, such as AutoCAD and other software are required.
Qualifications
A university degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university/institution.
