Overview

The Protection Coordinator will lead and oversee protection programming in ERRM, ensuring effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of activities. The role involves managing protection staff and projects, liaising with stakeholders, and contributing to strategy development.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the implementation of all ERRM Protection programming.
  • Directly manage and provide technical guidance to ERRM protection staff.
  • Create and execute ERRM implementation plans, spending plans, and procurement plans.
  • Manage Protection project budget and review monthly BvAs.
  • Undertake field visits to monitor the quality of implementation.
  • Participate in staff recruitment, on-boarding, induction, capacity building, and performance appraisal.
  • Stay abreast of the protection situation and priority needs.
  • Support the development and roll-out of NRC South Sudan Country Protection strategy.
  • Support proposal development for protection programming.
  • Ensure ERRM protection Risks monitoring data is collected, entered, and analyzed.
  • Support donor reporting by providing accurate and timely input.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with relevant area-level stakeholders.
  • Represent NRC at area level in protection cluster and sub-cluster coordination fora.
Required Experience
  • Previous experience from working in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • At least Three years’ experience in project management, including supervision of staff and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Significant experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting on project activities.
  • Prior experience of representing an I/NGO, and advocating on behalf of beneficiaries, in public forums (e.g. Protection Cluster/Sector).
Qualifications
  • A University degree in social science, law, political science or related subject.
  • Experience from working in a Protection position in a humanitarian/recovery context, including the delivery of technical capacity building trainings.
