Seeking a humanitarian leader to drive the global Cash & Market Systems agenda, providing strategic leadership and strengthening programme quality.


Key Responsibilities
  • Setting global vision and strategic direction for Cash and Market Systems.
  • Developing standards, guidance and tools.
  • Supporting country and regional teams to deliver high-quality, market-informed programming.
  • Line managing a team of advisers and specialists.
  • Leading a pilot on food market systems programming.
  • Further developing and rolling out a digital cash platform.
  • Representing NRC in global networks, donor dialogue and sector leadership fora.
  • Driving learning and organisational change.
Required Experience

Minimum 8 years of relevant leadership/management/adviser experience within cash and market systems in the humanitarian field. A thorough understanding of and experience with the implementation of e-cash at country level. Demonstrated expertise in market-based programming, including market assessments, market-integrated responses, and private sector engagement. Experience in designing and implementing cash and market-based solutions in complex and volatile contexts is essential. Experience of programme quality assessments, programme development and delivery. Experience in drafting and encouraging (change management through) implementation of policy/strategic guidance, and developing practical tools and resources. High level of understanding of organisational learning, and particularly the role and contribution of MEAL to evidencing impact. A track record of open-mindedness, adaptability, and constructive problem-solving in complex organisational environments is essential. Credibility to represent NRC at a strategic level and contribute to global policy developments with key donors and stakeholders. Evidenced experience of delivering learning and development as part of programme development and capacity building.

Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic is a strong advantage.
