Overview
The Cloud and Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, resilient, and scalable hybrid ICT infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. The role ensures the availability, performance, security, and cost-effective operation of ICT infrastructure and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, administer, and support Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Administer core Microsoft Azure services, including identity, compute, storage, networking, backup, and security policy enforcement.
- Configure, deploy, and scale Azure resources.
- Monitor cloud resource utilization and implement cost optimization strategies.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning for cloud environments.
- Design, configure, and deploy on-premises server infrastructure.
- Administer servers using tools such as Windows Server, Linux, and Hyper-V/VMware.
- Manage on-premises storage systems.
- Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions for on-premises infrastructure.
- Provide expert technical support in the design, configuration and performance tuning of LAN, WAN, VPN, and SD-WAN networks.
- Implement and manage network devices (firewalls, routers, switches).
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Develop and enforce Quality of Service (QoS) and other network policies.
- Integrate hybrid cloud environments.
- Implement infrastructure security controls.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.
- Develop tools, scripts, and automated workflows to monitor, provision, and maintain cloud and network infrastructure.
- Automate infrastructure and system maintenance tasks.
- Integrate AI-driven tools and predictive analytics.
- Optimize existing network and cloud configurations.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for network diagrams, cloud architectures, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to other team members and end-users.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, third party vendors to identify IT infrastructure needs and recommend solutions.
- Contribute to the long-term IT infrastructure strategy.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in cloud, on premises and networking technologies.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, or services.
Required Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure, network engineering, or related fields is required. Experience in hybrid (cloud and on-premises) environments is required. Experience working in an international or multicultural environment, preferably within an international organization, is desirable.
Qualifications
A first-level university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field is required. Relevant professional certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure) and networking (e.g., Cisco) are desirable.
