Overview
Senior WASH Manager responsible for leading the achievement of improved access to safe water and improved sanitation and hygiene practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the realization of the overall objective of improved access to safe water and improved sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Ensure WV Niger management and field staff are aware of the Niger government’s orientations, policies, and programs, as well as donor priorities and approaches in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
- Facilitate advocacy at local and national levels to achieve World Vision Niger’s WASH objectives and targets.
- Strategically integrate WASH into ADP development programs in its five-year plan.
- Ensure alignment of Niger’s WASH programs with Partnership-level initiatives.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with ESCA, FSL, Health, and Nutrition.
- Oversee the development of WV Niger’s strategy to promote a quality culture and the implementation of annual action plans for QAQC.
- Lead monitoring and evaluation (baseline and endline) of the NI-WASH program and all related NI-WASH projects and WASH grants/PNS projects.
- Monitor the faithful implementation of recognized WASH approaches by staff and partners in the field.
- Develop or adapt and disseminate diagnostic, analysis, and reporting tools.
- Develop innovative approaches to monitor the performance and effectiveness of NI-WASH projects and WASH grants/PNS projects.
- Ensure all WASH data and information for World Vision Niger is aggregated, processed, and analyzed at the national level.
- Communicate program quality issues to management and colleagues.
- Submit monthly, semi-annual, and annual NI WASH program reports, as well as quarterly NI WASH project reports.
- Ensure clear and accurate reporting to donors.
- Contribute to the preparation and writing of World Vision Niger’s annual reports.
- Provide regular technical support to WASH program field staff and Ni-WASH project staff through targeted training, tools, and resources.
- Facilitate the introduction and adoption of innovative practices, methodologies, and approaches in the implementation of NI WASH programs and projects.
- Identify new training needs in water, sanitation, and hygiene and integrate them into the training plan.
- Establish strategic contacts and relationships with potential donors and partners for WASH project funding opportunities.
- Ensure an update on donor and key partner priorities and interventions in the WASH sector.
- Actively contribute to the identification, assessment, and design of grant project proposals.
- Design and implement, in collaboration with the RAM department, a pre-positioning plan with key WASH sector donors in Niger.
- Ensure that technical and high-quality standards in the implementation of WASH grant projects meet or exceed donor expectations.
- Represent World Vision Niger at the UN agencies and partners WASH group.
- Ensure WASH facilitators and WASH project managers/coordinators participate in WASH working group meetings and activities in their respective regions.
Required Experience
At least 5 (five) to 10 (ten) years of professional experience in a WASH program/project.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Hydraulics, Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, or a related discipline.
