Overview

Provide capacity building on crisis management and safe leadership in public administration and politics, potentially extending to women in management positions in the private sector.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop learning modules/methodology on crisis leadership and safe leadership in politics, ensuring alignment with international standards, national legislation, and best practices, covering inter alia: framing and message formulation; public presence; responding to sexist narratives and gender disinformation; psychological resilience; and communication in times of crisis.
  • Deliver at least 6 training sessions on crisis leadership and safe leadership in politics (up to 25 participants * up to 6 trainings).
  • Pre- and post-training questionnaires assessing the knowledge of participants will be developed and conducted.
  • Provide individual mentoring/advisory sessions for the beneficiaries of the program, on demand, within, or as a component of the capacity building program.
  • Develop a Final Report on the assignment, summarizing lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations for future capacity‑building opportunities.
Required Experience

At least 5 years of proven experience in designing and delivering methodologies and training programmes on transformative and adaptive leadership and decision-making, particularly for women in public leadership roles in politics, in security and/or women in management positions in the private sector is required. Proven experience in developing curricula, facilitation guides, and interactive methodologies for executive-level or senior public officials is required. Experience working with parliaments, governments, local authorities, or international organizations on governance and women’s political participation is required. Experience in women’s leadership in crisis preparedness and resilience, including work related to crisis governance, emergency response, or institutional resilience is an advantage. Experience working with international organizations is an advantage, including UN, is an advantage.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Gender Studies, Law, International Relations, Psychology, Leadership Development, or other related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Certification in leadership development, facilitation, or project/programme management would be an asset.

Remuneration
The Consultant shall be paid for the services performed under the Contract on a per-day basis. UN Women shall pay the Consultant upon certification by UN Women that the services have been satisfactorily performed, and upon submission and approval of corresponding deliverables and timesheets. The fee may be payable in installments and the number of days worked is to be determined solely by UN Women. The Consultant agrees and acknowledges that acceptance of the Contract does not guarantee any minimum fee to be paid to the Consultant.
