Overview

This internship supports the Finance and Budget Section (FBS) in Addis Ababa with service automation initiatives, including survey automation and digital tools. The intern will gain exposure to service improvement, data collection, process documentation, and reporting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the design, testing and updating of automated surveys and forms for FBS service needs;
  • Supporting the collection, organization and analysis of survey responses and service data;
  • Helping develop or improve trackers, dashboards, templates and other tools used by FBS units;
  • Supporting process mapping and documentation of workflows across AU, TFU, PDU, TU and BU;
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports, summaries, presentations and briefing materials based on collected data;
  • Supporting the review of existing manual processes and identifying areas where automation may improve efficiency;
  • Helping maintain records and organize information related to finance, budget and service delivery activities;
  • Supporting coordination and follow-up with FBS units on service automation requirements;
  • Assisting with testing, quality checks and user feedback collection for automated tools;
  • Assisting and contributing to other related duties in support of FBS service automation and survey automation, as assigned.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Applicants should be pursuing or have completed studies in administration, business administration, finance, accounting, information systems, data management, public administration, or another related field relevant to administrative and finance support services. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in digital tools, automation or process improvement through academic coursework, university projects, personal learning or other experiences.

Fluency in English is required for this internship.

Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
