Overview

Support the effective communication and visibility of a project in Sri Lanka through the development of communication products, stakeholder engagement, and media outreach.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a Communication and Visibility Plan.
  • Prepare and disseminate communication products including press releases, success stories, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Document project achievements, results, and beneficiary impact stories.
  • Coordinate field missions to collect communication materials.
  • Ensure donor visibility across all communication materials.
  • Develop communication materials in English, Sinhala, and Tamil.
  • Coordinate media engagement activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media organizations and stakeholders.
  • Produce digital and visual communication products.
  • Manage and update FAO Sri Lanka's website and social media platforms.
  • Monitor media coverage and social media performance.
  • Support the organization of project events.
  • Coordinate with UN agencies and government communication units.
  • Contribute to knowledge management initiatives.
  • Coordinate with FAO communication units for compliance.
  • Support the preparation of donor reports.
Required Experience
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in the field of humanitarian sector.
  • Proven experience in strategic communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge management, preferably in agriculture, food security, resilience, humanitarian, or development programmes.
Qualifications

University degree from a recognized University in mass media communications or a related field
