Overview

This position will oversee health interventions and implementation in project activities in Aswan, providing oversight and technical guidance for health activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and lead the implementation of health activities, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Support project design to achieve measurable results in health and gender equality.
  • Monitor health interventions in field sites.
  • Lead health projects’ staff in vision, implementation, planning, and monitoring.
  • Highlight general health issues to the program lead and health TA.
  • Work closely with and provide technical support to health governmental partners.
  • Ensure follow-up and monitoring of the implementation plan and activity quality.
  • Document health development interventions and lessons learned.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with government and community stakeholders.
  • Mainstream health across different sectors.
  • Report to and engage with the TA on responsibilities.
  • Provide technical capacity building support to the project team and partners.
  • Develop a platform for cross-learning.
  • Develop locally adapted tools and approaches.
  • Ensure lessons learned are shared and capitalized on.
  • Work closely with MEAL staff to design and implement needs assessments and project monitoring.
  • Monitor project activities with partners and MEAL.
  • Use and encourage the use of Quality Benchmarks.
  • Support the collection of documentation and share information on best practices.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for cross-learning.
  • Identify and facilitate staff development opportunities.
  • Represent Save the Children with government partners in Aswan.
  • Compile quantitative and qualitative reports, case studies on health interventions.
  • Contribute to annual reporting.
  • Support mainstreaming of safeguarding policy within health design and implementation.
  • Collaborate to ensure activities are safe for children and adults.
Required Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in health programming in a development program context, having experience in the humanitarian field is a plus. Significant experience in training, capacity building, and mentoring. Experience in program design and proposal development. Experience in representation with international bodies, government and funders.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in health or public health.
