Overview

The Health Coordinator will lead the implementation of community health activities in Aswan, Egypt, focusing on improving the health and well-being of refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable migrant communities. This role involves managing community health workers, building capacity of local NGOs, and coordinating health services.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of community health activities.
  • Hire, train, and supervise Community Health Workers (CHWs).
  • Build the capacity of local NGO community health activities.
  • Plan and implement health awareness and screening sessions and events.
  • Coordinate with health authorities and stakeholders.
  • Assess needs and support infrastructure and capacity building.
  • Collaborate with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Egyptian Health Authority (EHA).
  • Coach, mentor, and manage the transition of clinics to local partners.
  • Support local partners in establishing and maintaining primary healthcare services.
  • Assess infrastructure, supplies, and capacity building needs of PHCs and hospitals.
  • Support the development of SOPs for cash for health interventions.
  • Support the creation of internal SOPs for managing medical cases and referrals.
  • Assess cases referred from the community to mobile clinics and secondary healthcare services.
  • Plan and implement cash for medical cases and health services reimbursement program.
  • Identify, select, and support community members who can provide community health services.
  • Support a health and nutrition needs assessment for the target population.
  • Co-train community health workers and stakeholders on health promotion methodologies.
  • Implement health and nutrition promotion sessions.
  • Maintain records of mobile clinics, needs assessments, and capacity building interventions.
  • Prepare regular reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Enter monthly data for service utilization in the project database.
  • Record mobile clinics data and update the database.
  • Draft reports, case studies, and other documents.
  • Participate in planning and developing future programming initiatives.
  • Ensure partner NGO is implementing activities as planned with high quality.
Required Experience

Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in implementing and supervising health services to vulnerable populations especially mobile clinics. Experience with refugee/marginalized communities. Previous experience in health system strengthening with similar projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in medicine
