Overview

The Programme Associate provides administrative and programmatic support to the Gender and Climate Resilience Project and the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) initiatives within UN Women Myanmar Country Office. The role focuses on programme formulation, financial management, and operational support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for programme formulation and management, including work plans, budgets, and proposals.
  • Offer technical guidance on programme delivery and finances to country offices and executing agencies.
  • Prepare information for programme audits and support the implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Review programme data for the CO website and gather information for documents and position papers.
  • Administer financial management of the Programme Unit, including project creation in Quantum, budget revisions, and financial close-out.
  • Monitor budget preparation and programme/project finances, including FACE forms and financial reports.
  • Process payments for consultants and maintain internal expenditure control systems.
  • Undertake logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements for meetings, workshops, events, and missions.
  • Make travel arrangements for the Programme Team.
  • Prepare public information materials and briefing packets.
  • Assist in resource mobilization by preparing cost-sharing agreements and following up on contributions.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and sharing by supporting the synthesis of lessons learned and best practices.
  • Provide administrative support for training on programme and operations issues.
Required Experience

At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or programme management/support is required. Experience in working in a computer environment using multiple office software packages is required. Experience in supporting a team is required. Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable. Work experience with the UN system is an asset.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary education is required. Bachelor’s degree in social sciences related to development studies, agriculture, climate change, environmental conservation, conflict prevention and resolution is desirable.
