Overview
The Logistics Officer will support MONUSCO's efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo by managing inbound shipments, tracking contracts, and coordinating cargo movements to ensure efficient warehouse operations and supply chain oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise and monitor inbound shipments and advise Integrated Warehouses on resource requirements.
- Assist in tracking and monitoring status of contracts and Purchase Orders.
- Liaise with MOVCON and Transport Unit on daily basis on movements of mission cargo.
- Analyse and access requirement and mobilization of resources such as MHE and Individual Contractors.
- Advise IWs of incoming cargo for preparation of resources.
- Submit regular reports for a continuous overview of supply chain operations.
- Maintain and updates different boards for Transport Unit’s movements of goods.
- Development and maintenance of transactions history files of assets.
- Create customized views through Business Intelligence or other reporting tools.
- Conduct accurate inventory performance analyses.
- Manage analysis and performance monitoring of the effectiveness and execution of asset control procedures.
- Identify and implement solutions to problematic areas of asset control process.
- Verify the accuracy of the data recorded/updated in the assets control system.
- Monitor the Inventory Management System to ensure all non-expendable items are entered.
- Monitor the assets and material in the Integrated Warehouses and identify discrepancies.
- Set aside dedicated time for capacity development through coaching, mentoring, formal and on-the-job training.
- Perform any other related task as required by the supervisor.
Required Experience
3 years of experience in a property management, warehousing management, inventory management and control systems, Receipts and Inspections, and/or background with relevant experiences practical experience in private industry, governmental organization. Knowledge, experience and understanding of policies and procedures relating to the UN field assets management is desirable.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, or equivalent.
