Overview

The Fuel Assistant will operate fuel pump/dispenser equipment, manage fuel receipts and issues, and maintain accurate records of fuel products. The role involves ensuring safety procedures are followed and fuel is issued to authorized personnel.


Key Responsibilities
  • Operate fuel pump/dispenser equipment and receive/issue fuel.
  • Keep accurate records of fuel receipts and issues.
  • Measure and report stock levels of fuels.
  • Compile daily, weekly, and monthly fuel balance sheets.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensure fuel is issued only to authorized personnel/equipment.
  • Report anomalies in fuel consumption.
  • Implement SOP on fuel quality control.
  • Conduct daily testing of aviation and ground fuels.
  • Keep computerized records of quality control tests.
  • Prepare periodic reports on quality assurance.
  • Refuel mission and authorized aircraft.
  • Monitor and report stock levels of aviation fuel.
  • Place orders to vendors and coordinate receipt/issue of POL.
  • Review and maintain invoice and accounts records.
  • Supervise collation and data entry into databases.
  • Coach, mentor, and train national staff or counterparts.
  • Undertake any other related duties.
Required Experience

At least 3 years of experience in two or more of the following areas: The operation of field fuel installations and fuel handling procedures, including aviation fuel; Fuel contract administration; Maintenance/repair of fuel equipment. Experience in petroleum supply chain operations is required. Experience in UN peacekeeping or other field operations is desirable.

Qualifications

Technical/vocational diploma in Certification/diploma or other supplemental academic qualifications or training in engineering, fuel or chemistry is highly desirable
