Overview

The intern will support the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO in its mission to coordinate global ocean science and services. Activities will vary based on assignment requirements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data
  • Contribute to document preparation and conceptual framework development
  • Assist in developing new interventions or projects
  • Undertake research and reviews for work products
  • Prepare knowledge and communication products
  • Participate in meetings and seminars
  • Analyze data for partnerships and resource mobilization
  • Support stakeholder engagement
  • Facilitate working groups and partner networks
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for events
  • Support budget, financial, and project documentation preparation
  • Manage data and contacts related to the Ocean Decade
  • Process requests for endorsement of Decade Actions
  • Support drafting and dissemination of communications assets
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in the 3rd or final year of a Bachelor's degree
  • OR Currently enrolled in a second university degree (Master's or PhD) or equivalent
  • OR Completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree within the last 12 months
  • Applicants in technical/vocational assignments must be enrolled in a specialized technical/vocational program
