The Instrumentation Technician contributes to the IAEA’s nuclear verification mission by preparing safeguards instrumentation and contributing to the delivery of related services. The role involves assembly, testing, calibration, evaluation, installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation.
Minimum of five years of relevant work experience, including in testing or troubleshooting instrumentation problems in the field. Knowledge of and experience with assembling mechanical and electrical instrumentation, electrical design principles, network-based monitoring instrumentation. Experience with safeguards instrumentation, nuclear material, and nuclear facilities, as well as basic knowledge of the nuclear fuel cycle an asset. Experience in radiation detection instrumentation and/or computing an asset. Demonstrated experience in writing technical documentation in English.
Completed secondary education. Additional qualification in the area of electronics/technical engineering/information technology (e.g. Berufsschule, Associate University degree, Hoehere Technische Lehranstalt or equivalent) an asset.
