Overview

The Environmental Remediation Officer contributes to project activities, supports the development of international guidelines, helps design and deliver training programmes, assists Member States in improving their environmental remediation capabilities, and provides technical assistance upon request.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assists in planning and organizing meetings and activities in environmental remediation.
  • Supports the planning and implementation of review missions, preparatory meetings and follow-up activities.
  • Contributes to the evaluation of TC projects.
  • Assists in coordinating of CRPs in Member States.
  • Supports the development of technical guidance and recommendations.
Required Experience

Minimum of five years' experience in environmental remediation and waste management or related activities, of which two years of experience in the management of moderately complex operational projects. Experience of working in a national/international nuclear organization or institute desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree - University degree in environmental science or in a related technical or scientific discipline. Master’s degree is an asset.

Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Remuneration
Tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $71335 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 37166*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; Other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
