As the surge WASH Cluster Coordinator, you will strengthen strategic coordination, close critical service gaps, safeguard standards, and enable UNICEF’s L2 emergency response to deliver life‑saving WASH services in highly volatile and hard‑to‑reach areas. In this role, you are responsible for providing predictable, timely and strategic leadership and representation for the Cluster to ensure a timely and effective response.
A minimum of 5 years (P3) of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required, preferably at the international level: nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care. Experience of working in the humanitarian coordination system is required. Relevant experience in health/nutrition programme/project development and management in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset. Experience in development contexts is an added advantage. Previous experience with: Programme development, Project management. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
Advanced University Degree qualification desirably in subjects/areas of WASH, Public Health Promotion or Education, Civil or Public Health Engineering, Public Health (MPH), Environmental Health. Note that work experience may substitute for higher degree qualifications.
