Overview

The Safeguards Statistical Data Analyst analyzes data from laboratory analysis of environmental samples and measurements from in-field verification activities to identify discrepancies and areas for follow-up, contributing to departmental evaluation activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Process and evaluate information from State declarations and verification activities.
  • Conduct analysis of incoming data from various sources.
  • Verify the quality of data and conduct follow-up actions.
  • Evaluate and compare collected data using modelling and statistical evaluation tools.
  • Deliver actionable findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve data flows and quality.
  • Contribute to developing and improving statistical methods and quantitative models.
  • Participate in the development, testing, implementation and management of statistical databases.
  • Participate in safeguards inspections and complementary accesses.
  • Deliver training or presentations.
Required Experience

Minimum of five years of relevant working experience as a statistical data analyst, contributing to core business objectives and producing analytical reports. Experience in measurement error estimation and propagation and statistical sampling methodologies. Experience in software development or maintenance, in particular for mathematical/statistical, scientific, and/or data visualization applications an asset.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree - University degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, chemistry, computer science or a related discipline.

Excellent oral and written command of English.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) an asset.

Remuneration
Tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $71335 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 40162*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; Other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
