Overview
Performs oral examinations, provides preventive management, and delivers oral and dental care services to registered refugees. Conducts oral health screening and promotes oral hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs periodic oral examination of school children and provides preventive management, including pit fissure sealant application.
- Conducts oral health screening for preschool, school, pre-conception care, pregnant women and non-communicable disease (NCD) patients.
- Provides oral and dental care services including minor dental surgeries and dental x-rays.
- Maintains infection control procedures in the dental clinic.
- Shares in the evaluation of the oral health programme, including data collection.
- Provides training and technical support to MCH staff on oral health preventive programmes.
- Ensures proper maintenance of dental care supplies, instruments and equipment.
- Promotes oral hygiene and participates in raising awareness related to oral health.
Required Experience
At least four years' progressively responsible relevant professional experience in dental treatment including dental surgery is required.
Qualifications
- A university degree from an accredited educational institution in dental surgery from a university recognized by the country of duty station.
- Valid license to practice dentistry in duty station.
- Desirable: A degree and/or experience in Public Health preferably related to dental health.
