Overview

The Assistant (Security and Operations) role supports the WHO Global Service Centre (GSC) by maintaining security and emergency procedures, updating databases, and assisting with communications and administrative tasks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on security and emergency procedures, including fire and safety evacuation plans.
  • Reviews security and safety situations and recommends improvements.
  • Manages fire and zone warden rosters and oversees training.
  • Updates staff information database and prepares reports for UNDSS.
  • Maintains and updates data for SMS broadcasting system and conducts tests.
  • Conducts communication tree exercises and implements corrective actions.
  • Assists in conducting briefings for new staff on emergency procedures and organizing fire drills.
  • Issues badges and access cards, and updates staff records on the HID Badge System.
  • Liaises with UNDSS, government agencies, and private organizations for information gathering.
  • Coordinates investigations into security-related issues and prepares documentation.
  • Verifies and tests surveillance security camera and proximity card access systems.
  • Creates communication materials, updates social media content, and disseminates materials.
  • Updates media contact lists and GSC internet/intranet content.
  • Assists in event planning, media outreach, and multimedia production.
  • Initiates and follows up on procurement of goods and services.
  • Performs other specific duties as required.
Required Experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in premises security.
  • Alternatively, 4 years of relevant experience with a first-level university degree.
  • Alternatively, 3 years of relevant experience with an advanced university degree.
  • Desirable: Work experience in WHO or another international organization.
  • Desirable: Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Desirable: Experience in internet and social media systems, applications, and interactive tools.
Qualifications
  • Essential: Secondary school education or equivalent with thorough training in administrative duties.
  • Desirable: Relevant higher diploma or degree.
  • Desirable: Training on facilities and premises security, including maintenance of security and emergency equipment.

Remuneration
• Annual net base salary starting at MYR 67,070 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable). • 30 days of annual leave.
