The Economic Affairs Officer will monitor economic developments, conduct studies, and provide policy recommendations to support Member States in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analysis, policy formulation, application of economic principles in development programmes or related area is required. Experience in coordinating workstreams and collaborating with colleagues and experts both within and outside the UN system to undertake research and analysis of emerging developing issues with global implications culminating in technical reports, policy papers, and presentations is required.
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in economics or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
