Overview
Contribute to the development of efficient and effective IT solutions, creating sound, innovative solutions that enable staff to deliver food assistance to beneficiaries, in line with WFP’s strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of plans and budgets, and manage the deployment of IT/TC systems aligned with business needs.
- Monitor and maintain IT/TC systems and networks, ensuring appropriate data security and access controls.
- Contribute to technical specifications and tender documents for IT/TC equipment and services.
- Collate and analyse data to contribute to the preparation of accurate reports on IT/TC activities.
- Maintain and develop technical expertise and understanding of industry developments.
- Provide advice to managers and users, resolving issues and ensuring IT policies are applied.
- Guide and supervise more junior staff, design training programs, and support them with complex analysis.
- Interact effectively with internal and external colleagues and user groups to understand needs and provide solutions.
- Follow standard emergency preparedness and contingency planning practices for IT services.
- Capture, analyze and document business requirements for IT solutions and services.
- Communicate business requirements to business counterparts for shared understanding.
- Test and analyze IT solutions and document the match against business requirements.
- Manage alignment of IT service levels with SLAs for solutions or services.
- Conduct surveys on business satisfaction with IT solutions and services.
- Manage estimates, business cases, planning, risk identification, problem, and issue management for IT solutions.
- Develop and deploy IT systems aligned with business needs.
- Write detailed technical specifications for developed applications.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Install, configure and customize IT systems, integrate and migrate data between systems.
- Perform any other tasks or take up additional responsibilities as and when required.
Required Experience
- 3 years of Professional / Managerial experience in Information Management and System Development preferably with International Organization, Government or UN system.
- Has assisted in the design and development of systems and applications needed to fulfil business requirements.
- Has utilized specialized knowledge to resolve issues arising during IT support.
- Has contributed to IT projects by providing analysis of business requirements.
Qualifications
Advanced University degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Development or relevant field., or First University degree with additional years of related work experience or trainings/courses in IT, Computer Science, Software Development or related functional area is desirable.
