Overview
The consultancy aims to strengthen the child protection system in India with a focus on Family-Based Alternative Care by providing strategic and technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and technical support with a specific focus on Family-Based Alternative Care (FBAC).
- Support system strengthening and implementation of care reform.
- Document best practices aligned with national priorities and global frameworks.
- Conduct strong and sustained advocacy and liaison with UNICEF Child Protection Network colleagues, Ministry of Women and Child development, NGO partners and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide professional expertise and assistance in working closely with UNICEF along agreed outcomes and results as well as evolving needs on a continuous basis.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the area of child protection and specifically on alternative care related programs.
- Understanding of research and monitoring, participatory learning methodologies will be preferred.
- Experience in report writing, and preparation of evidence based documentation for donor reporting.
- Knowledge of juvenile justice is preferred.
- Experience in working with Government or UN agencies.
