Overview
The Clinic Coordinator (Nurse) will provide primary clinical care and occupational health services within the UN Clinic in Copenhagen, assisting the UN Physician and managing clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend the UN Clinic.
- Assist the UN Physician in his/her duties.
- Perform diagnostic and screening tests.
- Facilitate referrals and coordinate follow-up.
- Coordinate referral of general preventative activities.
- Liaise with Danish health authorities and external laboratories.
- Ensure preparedness of staff travelling on missions.
- Instruct on the content and potential uses of the travel kit.
- Assist in providing health education and health promotion programs.
- Participate in work environment assessment and address occupational health issues.
- Plan and organize preventive and promotional medical fairs.
- Perform medical briefing for incoming staff and conduct first aid training.
- Administer minor outpatient treatment and immunization/vaccination requirements.
- Assist in maintaining records of patients' medical data.
- Maintain strict confidentiality with regards to patient’s medical records.
- Perform medication, injection, dressing, stitching, foreign body extraction and so on as needed.
- Maintain the UN Clinic in good order and keep the inventory of medical supplies and equipment up-to-date.
- Provide the patient with certificates and medical reports.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of other UN Clinic personnel.
- Check equipment and supplies and maintain them in working order.
- Enter medical data of patients into register, patient's file, and electronic databases.
- Process patient invoices.
- Schedule consultations with the UN Physician.
- Maintain a roster of available specialists for referrals.
- Ensure a proper and safe disposal of hazardous material and medical waste.
- Identify and plan clinics’ material, supplies and equipment requirements and raise requisitions.
- Liaise with Procurement to establish essential contracts.
Required Experience
5 years of continuous clinical experience in nursing preferably in a multicultural environment.
Qualifications
- Registered Professional Nurse and first level degree from an accredited Baccalaureate Nursing Programme (University) or equivalent such as an accredited Diploma Programme (4 years).
- Diploma recognized by the Danish health authorities to practice general medicine.
