Overview

Intern to assist in providing support to the Family Reunification Unit, in accordance with IOM policy and procedures.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of activities related to the use of DNA test to facilitate family reunification to Italy for migrants and refugees;
  • Support the collection of disaggregated and anonymous data of the beneficiaries of the program for publications, briefings and other relevant communication purposes;
  • Support the development/adaptation of existing tools for case management;
  • Support the collection of data and relevant legislations and practices related to the family reunification procedures in Italy and other EU member states;
  • Support the dissemination of information regarding family reunification as legal entry channel to Italy;
  • Perform other tasks related to the execution of the program, as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Experience

Assisted in basic administrative tasks such as document filing, data entry, and email correspondence. Participated in research and data collection activities related to project implementation. Previous experience in migration and asylum field would be considered an advantage.

Qualifications

Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); or Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or Have graduated with one of the above university degrees and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.

Fluency in Italian and English (oral and written) is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of Somali (oral and written) is an advantage.

Remuneration
Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs.
