Overview
The Logistics Officer will provide logistics support within the organization's delegated authority, assisting in planning support requirements, liaising with various units, and coordinating logistics for sub-offices and electoral materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Act on the advice and guidance of the MSC Field Office LogOps Supervisor for provision of logistics support.
- Assist in preparing short, medium, and long-term plan support requirements.
- Liaise with Military contingents, Formed Police Units (FPU), United Nations Police (UNPOL), and substantive personnel.
- Provide timely advice and technical input on logistics support.
- Coordinate the provision of adequate logistics support to designated sub-offices and other locations.
- Oversee the proper utilization of all United Nations Owned Equipment (UNOE), Contingent Owned Equipment (COE), and assets, as well as premises.
- Assist in identifying the continued requirement for leasing and occupation of premises.
- Coordinate the logistics requirements to support the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI).
- Liaise with Field Office Section representatives for technical advice.
- Attend the weekly LogOps meeting.
- Provide regular and accurate feedback on all logistics support issues.
- Act as the focal point to liaise with UN Agencies, non-UN entities, and local authorities.
- Be ready to assume the responsibility as Officer In Charge (OIC) MSC Field Office LogOps Supervisor during absence.
- Implement and adhere to the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Set aside dedicated time for capacity development through coaching, mentoring, and training.
- Perform any other related duties as and when assigned.
Required Experience
- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Progressively responsible experience in logistics or administrative functions related to these fields, including at least five (5) years.
- Previous experience working with or within armed forces will be an added advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain Management and Logistics or related field is required.
