Overview

The Administrative Officer ensures the provision of administrative, financial, and human resource support services for the Department of Nuclear Energy's programme implementation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Advise and support the Deputy Director General in managing the Department's financial and staffing resources.
  • Manage the Department's HR requirements, including screening HR actions, managing recruitment, and projecting staffing needs.
  • Support programme activities by facilitating scientific meetings, overseeing consultant travel and payments, and reviewing duty travel plans.
  • Represent the Department in interdepartmental groups on administrative issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes for business practices.
  • Authorize financial obligations as the delegated certifying officer.
Required Experience

Minimum seven years of relevant working experience in the management of human and financial resources, of which five years thereof at the international level, preferably in a UN agency.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in management, business administration, or a related field. First level university degree in management, business administration, or a related field with two years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of advanced university degree.

Languages Preferred
Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Remuneration
Tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $86027 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 44820*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; Other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
